Nov 3, 2015 · I've been running 245/40/17 on 17x7.5 ET45(ET42 with 3mm spacer up front) Enkei Fujin for autocrossing since mid Aug, hasn't had any issues at all. I did not even have the screw mod thus far. Granted this is on stock suspension. 245/40/17 is actually smaller overall diameter than the stock 225/45/17. So it should fit better anyway.

225/45/17 vs 245/40/17 on 17x8J, looking for examples! I got my mind set on Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires for my 17x8 wheels, however they only come 225/45/17 vs 245/40/17, while 235/40/17 is the ideal size for an 8J wheel. I can't get PSS and PS4S in this size, we don't get those in Europe, so that's not an option.
